“Be the Captain”, in its audiobook version, is a captivating blend of sailing instruction and real-life stories that reinforce the message Captain James Everson wants to convey. Although the author’s experience and focus are on sailing, much of the instruction, and certainly all of the leadership advice, applies to cruising any type of vessel, power boat in my case. Drawing on his extensive experience, James offers advice that rings true and brings me closer to the kind of captain I aspire to be.
I love the content. The constant banging on about how tough offshore sailing is - even if that is of course true - is making the reading a bit tedious. I already got it in the intro that this is a book for serious sailors…😊
