I found the book very interesting. I read it in a week and found it very intriguing with vast amounts of information on sailing real bluewater cruising grounds.
I would recomend this book to anyone who wants to sail.
Many tips on getting you there safe
Excellent resource!
Decades ago I did 10 years doing the club races in a monohull. I thought sailing was behind me, but I've been thinking about getting myself back onto a boat to live down around the islands... so much has changed in the past 20+ years.
Book is great. James writes like he speaks (the best writers do).
Not I am looking to go to a catamaran .. totally different type of sailing.. the floating condo... not really looking at blue water expeditions... just live out my life from anchor to anchor... so this book would be more useful for the old type of sailing I was into, but it was still a HUGE benefit to read.
Oddly (or maybe not), I come from an aviation background, professionally but now I just fly my plane for fun. There's a lot of similarities between sailing and flying in terms of the mindset and safety.
Love to take you flying around the islands someday James.
